About Us — My Holiday Taxi

Travel isn’t just about getting from the airport to a hotel. It’s about anticipation, belonging, and the quiet excitement of arriving somewhere new. At My Holiday Taxi, we believe transfers should feel like the beginning of your journey — not an obstacle you have to navigate before it starts.

This is the story of who we are, how our idea came to life, and why we care so much about what we do.

Who We Are

My name is Dave, and I’m the founder of My Holiday Taxi. I was born in Jamaica, migrated to the UK over 25 years ago to study, and spent the first part of my career as an accountant and later a Business Analyst designing systems that make people’s lives easier. Today, that’s exactly what I’m still doing — only now my job is to make sure travellers feel welcomed, cared for, and completely stress-free from the moment they book.

In our team, titles matter far less than purpose. I do whatever needs to be done — improving our system, solving customer issues, refining the experience — because satisfaction isn’t a department for us, it’s a mindset.

Our management team reflects that same spirit:

Nick, Head of Airport Transfers, leads with years of hands-on operational experience running a fleet of vehicles and coordinating drivers across busy tourist destinations.

Neil, Head of Tours, is a tourism veteran who understands that not every traveller wants the same experience. He prides himself on matching people to places that surprise them, delight them, and sometimes even change the way they see a country.

And then there’s Natshe, our Driver Coordinator. She’s the heartbeat of operations — determined, organised, and completely unshakeable. Until our driver app is released, she makes sure transfers happen smoothly and on time, every time.

Together we share a simple belief: travel should feel personal, flexible, and effortless.

How The Idea Was Born

My Holiday Taxi began, like many good ideas, from frustration.

While planning a trip home years ago, I noticed something strange. In places like Europe, the US, and China, I could book airport transfers to any hotel or address online — instantly. But when booking for Jamaica, I could only choose transfers to big hotels or packaged resorts. If you were visiting family, staying in a small guesthouse, or exploring beyond the usual tourist routes, the system simply didn’t care about you.

It made me realise something I couldn’t ignore:

travel shouldn’t only work for the most obvious traveller.

That insight grew into a mission — to build a transfer service that gave travellers freedom, flexibility, transparency, and the dignity of choice.

That mission evolved into what is now My Holiday Taxi, built not just for one destination, but for travellers everywhere who deserve a smoother experience.

What We Offer

We offer a booking system that feels like it belongs in the modern travel world:

 book online in seconds

choose any address, hotel, airport, or landmark

transparent, instant pricing (no waiting days for quotes)

 professional, trusted drivers

 easy navigation for first-time travellers

flexible routing for those who want something less conventional

And if you don’t know the exact address yet — tell us the city, region or neighbourhood and we’ll take you there without fuss.

As a Business Analyst, building technology that feels intuitive and human was essential to me. Our goal was simple:

no hassle, no confusion, no anxiety — just arrive happy and leave happy.

Why We’re Different

Many companies sell transfers. Very few understand what travellers actually feel during them.

We focus on three things:

1. Ease — no back-and-forth emails, no rigid packages, no “only to these hotels” limitations.

2. Flexibility — any destination, any passenger, any trip purpose.

3. Value — not always the cheapest, but always committed to fairness, reliability, and service that justifies the price.

Most importantly, we never stop improving. We listen, we adjust, and we design with travellers — not systems — in mind.

Because at the end of the day, travel isn’t just logistics. It’s personal. It’s emotional. And it deserves to feel good.
